Larsen & Toubro wins another civil contracts of Rs 4,878 cr for Chennai Metro Phase 2

Chennai, India (Metro Rail Today): The chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has opened financial bids for its underground construction works comprising five packages which are UG -1, UG-2, UG-3, UG-4, UG-5. The financial bids were open on October1, 2021.

Here are the details 

Package UG-03 (KMC to Royapettah)

Scope of Work

Construction of five (05) underground stations at KMC, Sterling Road Junction, Nangambakkam, Gemini, Thousand Lights and Thousand Lights Crossover and works other than diaphragm wall of two underground stations at Royapettah Govt. Hospital & Chetpet Metro.

Financial Bid Values 

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) – Rs 1872.00 Crores
Tata Projects – Rs 1975.28 Crores

Package UG-04 (Radhakrishnan to Adyar Junction)

Scope of Work

Construction of five  underground stations at Radhakrishanan Salai Jn, Thirumayilai Metro, Mandaiveli, Greenways Road (with part diaphragm wall), Adyar Jn and two cross passage shafts and one emergency escape shaft.

Financial Bid Values 

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) – Rs 1944.00 Crores
Tata Projects – Rs 2040.17 Crores

Package UG-05 (Adyar Depot – Taramani Link Road)

Scope of Work

Construction of three underground stations at Adyar Depot, Indira Nagar and Taramani Road Jn and Ramp and works other than diaphragm wall of underground station station Thiruvanmiyur Metro.

Financial Bid Values 

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) – Rs 1062.00 Crores
Tata Projects – Rs 1085.30 Crores
DRA Infracon – Rs 1096.04 Crores

The total cost of these projects are approximately Rs. 4,878 Crores. This corridor will connect Madhavaram Milk Colony to SIPCOT through 49 stations, and the total length of this project is approx. 45.81 km.
