Indore, India (Metro Rail Today):
The first phase of the long-running metro rail project of Indore which is also known as the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, could be completed in the 2023-24 financial year. A senior management official expressed his hopefulness regarding the speed of work on October 19,2021.

Manish Singh (DM, Indore) said,

We hope that the first phase of the city railway project in the city will be completed by the 2023-24 financial year. We are facing technical difficulties in the work of the first Metro line.

According to the officials, on September 14, 2019, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath laid the foundation stone for the first phase of the Indore municipal metro project at a total cost of Rs 7,500.80 crore, and under this, a 31.55 KMs high railway line will be built in the city.

It is worth noticing that over the past decade, there have been claims by the government which have been made in connection with the Indore municipal metro railway project. But for various reasons, its construction has always been lagging behind. According to officials, due to the Covid-19 outbreak a year and a half ago, the ongoing operations were interrupted.
