Agra, India (Metro Rail Today): 48 Double T Girders have been successfully placed for the concourse area of Taj East Gate Metro Station of the first corridor of Agra Metro Rail Project. All Double T Girders for the concourse area of the metro station have been successfully erected at the site. Along with the construction work for the platform level of Taj East Gate Metro Station has also begun and will be completed very soon.
Kumar Keshav (Managing Director of UPMRC) said,
Agra Metro Team has shown immense dedication and has been able to complete erection of all Double T Girders for Taj East Gate Metro Station within such a short span of time.
It is to be noted that currently, civil construction work is on for the elevated section of Priority Stretch of First Corridor. The elevated section comprises three metro stations, namely Taj East Gate, Basai and Fatehabad Road which have started to come into shape. Till now, construction of around 632 piles, 128 pile caps and 110 piers (pillars) has been completed.
The metro project was inaugurated virtually by Narendra Modi (Prime Minister of India) on the 7th of December, 2020, in presence of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath. Since then, the project is being executed at a fast pace and UP Metro is fully committed to complete the project within the set timeline.
