Rail Vikash Nigam gets contract for Indore Metro Rail

: Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) has finally issued contract order worth Rs 1,034 crore to Rail Vikash Nigam Limited (RVNL). The contract is for the construction of 10.927 km stretch between MR10 Road and  Gandhi Nagar under package IN03.

Tender for this contract package was invited in March 2021 and the estimated cost was Rs 1,000 crore. RVNL was the only bidder for this contract and the Technical bid was opened on July 2,2021. 

The scope of work under this contract is design and construction of elevated viaduct between Ch 14+488 and 25+415, viaduct connecting depot leading upto interface location, 9 elevated metro rail stations. The work also includes all civil, Structural, Roof structure, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works, Architectural finishes, Façade, Entry/ Exits, FOB, Viaduct within the stations including Transition spans for Indore Metro Rail Project. 

There will be nine metro stations under this contract. The stations will be located at Gandhi Nagar, Super Corridor 6, Super corridor 5, Super corridor 4, Super corridor 3, Super corridor 2, Super corridor 1, Bhawarsala square and MR 10 Road. The RNVL will have to complete the work in 847 days. The work also includes construction of roughly 575m depot line. No external agency has yet agreed to fund the project, hence the project will be funded through equity contribution of Government of India and Government of Madhya Pradesh.
