First train set for Kanpur Metro supplied by ALSTOM taken to the polytechnic depot

Kanpur, India (Metro Rail Today): The first train set of Kanpur Metro consisting three coaches arrived at the Government polytechnic on Tuesday morning. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has constructed a depot for Kanpur metro on Polytechnic ground.

All the three coaches of the train reached Kanpur on Tuesday early morning.The train remained packed even after its arrival at Kanpur. It got uncovered today in the presence of Kumar Kehsav (managing director of UPMRC). Coaches were taken to cover area and staff will assemble them now. After assembling the coaches, metro technical staff will start the testing of these coaches.

The first set of Train departed from savli Manufacturing Factory on September 18,2021. Yogi Adityanath (Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh)  attended the flag off ceremony virtually. State-of-the-art trains are inline with utmost passenger safety and energy conservation.The new metro trains will benefit around 5 million citizens of both the cities. The overall project will significantly contribute towards the socio-economic development of the region.
