Survey begins for the Coimbatore Metro Rail Project

Coimbatore, India (Metro Rail Today): The Chennai Metro Rail Corporation has started survey for Coimbatore Metro Rail Project. The survey followed an undeniable level gathering held in Chennai, a couple of days ago. Senior bureaucrats from the Municipal Administration and Water Supply, Finance and a couple of different offices and CMRL agents had taken part in the gathering.

The CMRL officials told Media :
Based on the Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) for Coimbatore, five corridors have been identified to implement the project. Detailed Project Report(DPR) will be summited to the government for approval. After receiving approval and funding, further action includes tendering will be initiated.

The overview is the most recent improvement in Coimbatore metro rail proposition as past governments had promised to give metro rail administrations to the city. Chennai-based Prime Meridian Surveys Private Limited is leading the main period of the review on three corridors. A Mumbai-based firm will plan maps. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be ready after the study closes.

According to CMP for Coimbatore, Five metro Corridors has been recognized for the implement the 136 km long Project in the city.

The Differential Global Positioning System (DGPs) is likely to conduct a survey at 400 places on the three proposed corridors. The survey will be conducted from Ukkadam - Kaniyur - Thanneerpandal - Karnampettai and Ukkadam Vellalore. Later, we will use Lidar devices, which will be fixed on the roof of a vehicle, to conduct topographical survey. We have to complete the two surveys before the first week of October. 
Said an official. 

The Survey reports will be Summited to the Rail India Technical and Economics Service Limited (RITES).
