Patna Metro Rail is to start its operations by the end of 2024

 Patna, India (Metro Rail Today): The work for Patna Metro Rail is in progress and is being done rapidly. The work started last year and it may end in the coming few years. Bihar is seeing a lot of development since last decade. There has been construction of flyover - bridges, widening of roads, Bihar museum, Samrat Ashok convention center etc. Metro is going to start soon.

Metro will make commuting much easier in the city. Traffic jams will be reduced and it will also help people save their so much time. Patna has a lot of jam problem. Pace work of Patna Rail Project has increased and is expected to complete in coming 40-42 months.

Patna Metro Rail Projects target is set to complete by March 2023 but it may miss its target as only 5% of the work has been done so far.

Dr. Chandrasekhar singh (DM, Patna) has said: 

The metro construction agency is being provided facilities as per the need by the district administration. Every effort is being made to complete the construction of track, station and depot for Patna Metro operations on time. I personally review it from time to time in the Project Monitoring Committee.

The first operations will start from Malahi Pakri to ISBT. ISBT is the new bus stand. Currently, Malahi Pakri is under construction. There are two corridors in Patna Metro Rail project. The first corridor is between Danapur to Jaganpura. The corridor will be of 17.933km with 14 metro stations. The Metro stations in first corridor project are Saguna Mod, Patliputra, Rukanpura, Raja Bazar, Patna Zoo, Vikash Bhawan, Patna Railway Staion, Mithapur. Ramkrishna Nagar and Jaganpura. 

Second Metro Corridor will be constructed between Patna Railway Station to Patliputra Bus Stand.The corridor will be of 14.564km with 12 Metro Stations. The Metro Stations in this corridor will be Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University, Moin-Ul-Haq Stadium, Rajendra Nagar,Malahi Pakri, Khemnichak, Bhootnath and Zero Mile Metro station. The estimated cost of Patna Metro Rail is Rs 13,411.77 crore.
