NHSRCL to give Rs 167 crore to Vadodara Municipal Corporation for acquiring land for Bullet Train Project

: Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will receive Rs 167.60 Crore from the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) for the land that will be acquired for the Mumbai- Ahmedabad High Speed Bullet Train Project. 

NHSRCL will acquire land from VMC on the alignment for the Bullet Train. The alignment of the train will cross through the city from Chhani on one end and to Maneja on the other.

VMC will have to give 1,63,265.72 square meters of the land in the city. The land will include space reserved for the proposed roads, existing roads, pathways and open plots. VMC to be compensated on the rates. They will be compensated double the Jantri or official government rates for land.  A total of 39 open lands has been listed for the handover to the NHSRCL, making up a total of 9476.03 square meters. 36 lands are in Vadodara city at different places and 3 lands are in Vadsar. 

The VMC will also hand over the Tourist Information Centre building, with the land. It will receive Rs 2.71 crore for the land and Rs 12.8 crore towards the construction cost of the building.
