NCC Ltd. emerged as the lowest bidder in Bangalore Airport Metro line construction

Bangalore, India (Metro Rail Today): Nagarjuna Construction Company Ltd. (NCC Ltd.) has emerged as the lowest bidder to construct all packages of Bangalore Metro's Airport line on September 14,2021. The line will be of 37 km and will link Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) to KR Puram.

These 3 elevated packages of the Bangalore Metro Phase 2B project range from 11 to 15 kms and consist of 15 out of the 17 stations planned on the line.

Package 1

 Estimated cost of the package Rs 639.95 Crore and NCC bid Rs 739.04 Crore. The length of this package is 11,003 Km and the estimated completion time is 27 months. Construction of elevated structure (Viaduct and stations) from Chainage 0.000m to 10072.000m will be done. There will be 8 elevated stations. The name of the stations are Kasturi Nagar, Horamavu, HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, HBR Layout, Nagawara, Veerannapalya and Kempapura. The work also includes 650.00m link line connectivity to Baiyappanahalli, road widening, utility diversion and allied works of Bengaluru Metro Rail Project Phase-2B.

Package 2

Estimated cost is Rs 645.30 Crore for this package and NCC bid Rs 747.99 Crore. The length of this package is 11.678 km and the estimated completion time is 24 months. Construction of elevated structures (viduct and stations) from chainage 10072.00m to 21500.000m will be done. There will be 5 elevated stations. The name of the stations are Hebal, Kodigehalli, Jakkur Cross, Yelahanka and Bagalur Cross. The work also includes 250m pocket track, road widening, utility diversion and allied works of Bengaluru Metro Rail Project Phase-2B.

Package 3

Estimated cost for this package is Rs 620.88 Crore and NCC bid Rs 680.21 Crore. The length of this package is 15.011 km and estimated completion time is 24 months. Construction of elevated structures (viaduct and stations) from chainage 21500.000m to 36511.000m will be done. There will be two elevated stations. The name of the stations are Bettahalasuru and Doddajala. The work also includes road widening utility diversion and allied works of Bengaluru Metro Rail Project Phase-2B. This length include approximately 718.18m cut and cover portion in front of Yelahanka Air Force Station.
