GMR to put amount of Rs 500 Crores in Hyderabad Airport Metro Project

Hyderabad, India (Metro Rail Today) : The GMR group working on Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) will put Rs 500 crore in a Rs 5000 crore metro rail interface project. Telangana government has proposed this project for the network of the Airport from different parts of the city.

The state government has formed a special purpose vehicle (SPV) which is Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAMT). This will look after the development, construction, operations and management of the Airport Metro Link.

SPV is also responsible to look after the planning, designing , coordinating and monitoring of combined township, shopping malls, commercial complexes and other infrastructure facilities.

The conference paper offers
The envisaged project cost of metro line would be around Rs. 5000 crore of which HIAL's contribution would be in the range of Rs. 500 Crores (10 per cent of the project cost) which is equivalent to the estimated cost of metro connectivity within the airport precinct

The 31km long Airport Metro Link is likely to connect Raidurg to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA). This Metro link will run through Bio-Divercity Junction to Airport Terminal Via Nanakramguda, Narsingi, TS police Academy, Rajendranagar, Shamshadbad and Airport cargo. The detailed project report (DPR) is prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRCL) in 2019.

GMR has mentioned the Ministry of Civil Aviation to think about the above mentioned capital commitment as aeronautical resource and include something similar for the determination of the Regulatory Asset base (RAB) for assurance of aeronautical charges.
