Kochi, India ( Metro Rail Today): The Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has received bids from its Project Management Consultancy Contract. The bids are for the Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro Rail Project. This was reveled after the opening of the bids of the contract package KBPMC- 01 on september 3,2021.
Firms who have summited their bids for providing the project management consultancy services for Phase 2 are:

Louis Berger Consulting Pvt.Ltd.
SMEC (India) Pvt. Ltd.
The Line -2 (Pink Line) will be constructed between JLN Stadium to Infopark II with 11 numbers of Metro Stations. The Metro stations are Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (New station Box), Palarivattom Junction, Palarivattom Bypass, Chembumukku, Vazhakkala, Padamughal (formerly Kunnumpuram), Kakkanad Junction, Cochin SEZ (Special Economic Zone), Chittethukara, KINFRA (formerly Rajagiri), InfoPark 1 / Smart City 1, and InfoPark 2 / Smart City 2. The type of Metro Phase 2 route is elevated and the lenght is 11.2km It was approved by kerala Goverment in 2018. The estimated cost for the construction of Metro Phase 2 is Rs 2,310 crore. The bids have now sent for the evaluation of the contract.
The work has to be completed in 4.5 years from the date of the award. Central Government's Cabinet approval is currently pending. Earlier, KMRL had appointed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for Phase 1 (Aluva to Petta) and Aarvee Associates for phase 1B's (SN Junction to Thripunithura) Project Management Consultancy roles.
