DMRC invites bids for rolling stock of phase -IV

 



New Delhi, India (Metro Rail Today): Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has recently invited tenders to procure 288 new coaches for operating on three priority corridors of Delhi Metro's phase - IV project.

Bids has been invited for this procurement in two parts which is being financed by  the Japan International Cooperation Agency through a loan of Rs. 8,390 crore.

"90 coaches (15 x 6 coaches) for the Pink Line’s 12.558 km extension (Mukundpur – Maujpur) and 144 coaches (14 x 6 coaches) for the Magenta Line’s 28.92 km extension (Janakpuri West – RK Ashram)
54 coaches (9 x 6 coaches) for the 23.622 km new Silver Line (Aerocity – Tughlakabad)
These new trains must be 3.2 m wide, lightweight, made of stainless steel, and compliant with standard gauge track system. They must also be suitable for communications-based train control (CBTC) signaling for Unattended Train Operations (UTO) conforming to Grade of Automation level 4" a news report added.


Brief Scope of Part-A includes Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing, Commissioning, Training of 234 Nos. Standard Gauge Cars for Extended Sections of Line 7 & 8 and scope of Part-B includes Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing, Commissioning, Training of 54 Nos. of Standard Gauge Cars Including Comprehensive Maintenance up to Fifteen Years for These 54 Nos. Standard Gauge Cars for Aerocity – Tughlakabad Corridor

Completion period 2of the project is  36 weeks (4.5 years) while the Bid Submission End Date is 15-Sep-2021 at 03:00 PM and Technical Bid Opening Date is 16-Sep-2021 at 03:05 PM.
