Bangalore, India (Metro Rail Today): In a recent move, three construction companies have submitted bids for the pending work on the 7.5-km elevated Metro line along Bannerghatta Road which lies between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere. Around six months ago, The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd had terminated the contract awarded to cash-strapped Simplex Infrastructures Ltd in 2017, citing poor performance.
The three bidders are Afcons, ITD and GR Infra. BMRCL has already engaged ITD and Afcons for building different stretches of 72-km Phase II project while GR Infra has participated in bidding process for the first time for Bangalore Metro.
After the contract got terminated, Simplex Infrastructure Ltd had only completed 35 per cent of the total civil construction work. It is being estimated that the cost of this bid will be Rs 339 crore.
This is an elevated line of 7.5 km which consists of five Metro stations including Kalena Agrahara (Gottigere), Hulimavu, IIM Bengaluru, JP Nagar Phase IV, and Tavarekere (Swagath Road).
